Description: Red Brick Annual Art Auction and Festival will take place on Saturday, August 1st from 1-3pm. Included in the days events are a silent auction of over 100 pieces of art and 50+ business donations, Aspen Dance Progressions performance at 3:30, Hudson Reed Ensemble theatre performance at 3:00pm, music by the Smuggler Band 1-3pm, and art demonstrations with clay, jewelry, sculpture, drawing, and painting 1-2pm. Art will be on display and available for pre bidding starting on Monday, July 27. Join us and support Aspens local art center. Description: SUNDAY, AUGUST 2 Evening with the Artists, 7 pm / Schermer Meeting Hall Slide lecture series by faculty and visiting artists sharing images of their work and the inspiration behind them. Free and open to the public. Robin Mandel received his MFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2005. He has recently exhibited in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Connecticut, and has attended residencies at Anderson Ranch and the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire. In 2007/2008, he was visiting assistant professor of sculpture at Colby College in Maine, and in 2009 will teach at RISD and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Ali Momeni studied composition, improvisation and performance with computers at the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies at University of California, Berkeley. He spent three years in Paris where he collaborated with performers and researchers from La Kitchen, IRCAM, Sony CSL, and CIRM in Nice. He currently teaches in the art department at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Donald Fortescue is the chair of the furniture program at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Donald has exhibited widely internationally, received many grants and awards, taught at several design and art schools, maintained a commercial furniture studio in Australia for 10 years, and worked with leading furniture makers and craftspeople in Australia, the UK, Japan and the US. www.donaldfortescue.com
