Winter starts here. Kick – off the ski season with an action-packed week at Vail Snow Daze – the biggest early season party in North America. On top of that, historically Vail Snow Daze marks the opening of the mountain including the seven legendary back bowls and Blue Sky Basin (weather and snow dependent) which is an event not to be missed in itself.

Thursday, April 2
7:30pm: Opening Night Film presented by Fritzlen Pierce Architects, Cascade Village Theaters. Trucker directed by James Mottern — Q&A with Michelle Monaghan
9:30pm: Stella Artois Opening Night Party, Donovan Pavilion. Enjoy Festival Opening Night with Stella Artois premium Belgian beer, and cocktails provided by Vodka 14 and Canadian Club Whisky. Casual attire. Olivia Plyler and Jonathan Nelson’s Shoot the Wounded present; Le Charme Discret – a Fashion Installation. And performances by Kaivalya Hoop & Fire.
Friday, April 3
11am–11pm: Film Screenings at Cascade Village Theaters and Vail Mountain School. Check the Schedule for screening times.
12pm–6pm: Hospitality Lounge presented by Oogave Soda, Cascade Ballroom. Come relax and mingle with filmmakers and festival attendees at the Hospitality Lounge and enjoy complimentary Stella Artois, premium Belgian beer while listening to live music or catching a panel discussion or screenplay reading.
2–3:30pm: Activism in Film Panel Discussion, presented by IFC, Hospitality Lounge at the Cascade Ballroom. Film is the single most influential medium of our time, yet most films focus solely on entertainment, while neglecting pressing and immediate issues affecting the world. Does activism have a place in film? Moderated by Christine Lubrano, VP of production at IFC.
3:30–5:30pm: Festival Music Café presented by Vail Racquet Club, Hospitality Lounge at the Cascade Ballroom
4–5:30pm: Filmmaker Reception, Larkspur Restaurant. Mingle with filmmakers, musicians and festival patrons at Larkspur restaurant in Golden Peak at the base of Vail mountain. In a place known for excellence, Larkspur meets and exceeds all expectations.
8–10pm: Hotel Café Friday Night Concert, Hospitality Lounge at the Cascade Ballroom. Come relax and listen to live music by some amazing singer-songwriters from LA’s acclaimed Hotel Cafe. Listen to music and enjoy complimentary Stella Artois, premium Belgian beer.
Saturday, April 4

12–1:15pm: Screenplay Readings, Hospitality Lounge at the Cascade Ballroom. Come listen to the winning screenplays from our 3rd annual screenplay contest.
2–4pm: Festival Music Café presented by Vail Racquet Club, Hospitality Lounge at the Cascade Ballroom
5–6pm: Awards Ceremony, Cascade Village Theaters. Special Q&A with Renegade Award Recipient, Kevin Smith
8pm: Closing Night Film presented by P.R.L. Lessing Foundation, Cascade Village Theaters. Weather Girl directed by Blayne Weaver — Q&A with Blayne Weaver, Tricia O’Kelley, Kaitlin Olson
10pm: Festival Closing Party 10pm, Billy’s Island Grill in Lionshead. The festival culminates at Saturday Night’s VIP Party. Enjoy drinks and appetizers at Billy’s Island Grill. Casual attire.
Sunday, April 5
Last day to catch films. Check the Schedule for screening times. The winners of Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, Audience Award, Best Short Film, Best Student Film and Best Action Sports Film will be played at the Cascade Theater.

- Passes will not be mailed, but will be available for pick-up at the festival will-call booth beginning on March 30th, 2010.
- $7 Individual tickets available for purchase at screening venues on a space available basis.
- Passholders receive priority seating until 10 minutes before showtime.
- The Vail Film Festival does not guarantee seating. The Vail Film Festival makes every effort to screen sold out movies more than once so that Pass-holders are able to see all the movies of their choice.
- No refunds or rainchecks.
- Due to the mature subject matter of many of the films in the festival, please use your parental discretion when considering which films to view.
- Some Vail Film Festival parties will not admit anyone under 21.
