Bradenton Beach Area Information

Bradenton Beach is a charming and vibrant community of 1,500 located at the southern end of Anna Maria Island. The Island is located at the southern entrance to Tampa Bay on the Gulf of Mexico. The island is shared with its sister cities, Holmes Beach and Anna Maria City. Bradenton Beach is one of the most sought after vacation destinations in Florida where vacation rentals are located directly on the beach, or within easy walking distance to the beach and provide easy access to some of the best places to enjoy water sports and fishing.

Access to Anna Maria Island can be achieved from the mainland (Bradenton) via bridges on Cortez Road or Manatee Avenue or from Longboat Key to the south via the bridge over Longboat Pass. A short drive from the airport, rental cars or paid transportation companies is an affordable option to get you to the area. Once in Bradenton, biking is a great method for getting around, walking is popular, and public transportation is convenient and fun. Your vacation rental will be located in a place where these options are feasible. Condo rentals and beach houses are close to the areas you want to visit.

The city boasts miles of uninterrupted supervised public beaches on the Gulf side and calm docking and mooring areas on the mangrove lined bay side. The unique option of choosing a Bay front rental with a boat dock where you can rent a boat and dock it at your vacation rental is something you can’t do in other vacation resort cities, and definitely not an option with a hotel room.

Bradenton Beach is blessed with miles of sugar sand beach. Cortez and Coquina beaches on the Gulf side are managed by Manatee County. Cortez Beach lies in northern section of the city, with numerous access points available.  Great beach houses and condos can have a walk out and view directly of this great beach.

Coquina Beach lies at the southern end of the city and has lifeguard supervision. A large parking area is located next to the beach from 5th Street South, with acres of parking found at the Coquina Park at the south end of the island. On the bay side at Coquina is a small beach that is popular with personal watercraft riders. If you get a vacation house to rent, you can bring your own jet skis from home and park them in your private driveway or garage. Public washrooms, a picnic area and snack bar are also found at Coquina.

You can fish from the popular City Pier, which features a full service Café and where bait is available. Inshore and offshore fishing tours are also readily available from local Guides. There are a number of Parks within city limits, including beach front with picnic facilities and public restrooms. There are numerous public accesses to the beach. There are also public boat ramps at the county managed Bay Side Park at the southern tip of the city.

Vacationing in Bradenton Beach gives you plenty of opportunities to get the best out of a Florida Gulf Coast vacation, and planning on bringing a boat or jet ski from home is an option that you may want to consider when choosing the vacation rental of your dreams.  Bay side or Gulf side, the Bradenton Beach area is a vacation paradise you will want to plan on year after year.
